Cheree Rogers is the founder and director of Healthy Living, a program designed to help you change not only your diet, but your lifestyle. Cheree has a passion for health and proper nutrition and is one of the few people that “practice what they preach”. She recognizes the need to monitor your food intake, but also knows the side of people who may “need a little chocolate” here and there. Cheree offers this program as a part of Santa Monica Sports Medicine services.

Healthy Living began with Cheree’s desire to improve the health of her clients. She has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over ten years. Working with clients as a massage therapist and personal trainer, she noticed that people were desperate for proper guidance regarding food, calories and fat loss. She noticed that her clients followed her advice and were dedicated to changing their habits. She created a comprehensive program that included: initial analysis of a three-day food intake, initial body fat measurements, height, weight and body measurements, “before” pictures and goal setting.

Along with proper dietary guidelines, Cheree may also design a personalized exercise routine for her clients. She realizes the importance of strength training ( i.e. weight training) as well as increasing flexibility and overall conditioning. With these parameters established, Cheree found that her clients became excited to be involved in changing their habits. With “before” pictures to provide concrete evidence and truthful recording of daily food intake, she found that people were able to see themselves realistically. To actually see what you eat and see yourself in a picture can help a person set realistic goals for health and fitness. Cheree realizes that changes need to take place over time and that moderation is the key to success. She believes in helping you make changes in your lifestyle, but establishes your baseline so changes can be subtle, not drastic.

Cheree is certified by the World Instructor Training School as a certified personal trainer. She also is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America in Weight Control and Body Composition as well as High Performance Core Conditioning from the Chek Institute. She has additional studies in mat pilates and aqua fitness.

Cheree also has many experience as a massage therapist. She is certified in the following techniques: deep tissue sports massage, Swedish, pregnancy and infants, thai and ashiatsu and acupressure. She has become one of the most sought after bodywork experts in Los Angeles. Due to the demands of her Healthy Living business, she has available by appointment only for bodywork. She offers a limited number of hours for this service so if you seek the best, please call ahead for an appointment.

Cheree is currently studying to become a certified nutritionist and will graduate in the spring of 2008. Stay tuned for additional programs at that time.
